Minot Air Force Base, ND- In a continuing effort to deliver extraordinary guests to this northern nuclear missile and bomber base, American300 has reached out to Chris Lytle and Jim Peters to continue the AFGSC American300 Never Quit Series of guests.
Cage fighter and Comedian... not exactly you're everyday combination.
Jim and Chris are close friends from Indiana, while one scraped his way through the ranks of wrestling and traditional boxing before becoming a world champion cage fighter, the other started off as a kid looking to get out of playing a musical instrument... by asking his father for a drum set.
In the case of Chris Lytle, the champions path was paved with ups and downs... lefts and rights... hooks and jabs. The fact that the now retired UFC Champion chose to surround himself with 'true friends and supporters' and never turned his back on those who 'got him there', stands out amongst the showbiz quality of today's UFC.
For Jim Peters, that first drum set when he was 9 years old lead to many more and a professional career as a studio musician. It wasn't until years later that his faith in God and desire to share his musical talents and faith with individuals around the world opened the door to his comedic inner self.
The two will be visiting both the 5th Bomb Wing and 91st Missile Wing of Air Force Global Strike Command over the next several days. Airmen will be exposed to group gatherings where both of these men will share their pasts in the hopes that everyone they meet can enjoy a better future.
Additionally, Peters plans to hand out hundreds of TapouT 'Tee's 4 Troops' while Lytle burns through the Sharpies by signing 'Fight Night Posters' (as well as leading some demonstrations).
"We're humbled that these two individuals and their families found time to donate up the hours" says Robi Powers, founder of the program "Chris while never technically knocked out in the cage... knows a pile about perseverance and Jim is one of the funniest 'been there done that seen that' individuals you'll ever find... it's going to be an amazing tour."
The 'Lights Out Laughs On - Never Quit Series Tour starts Tuesday, August 28, 2012 at MAFB.
